Photography for Beginners – Online Photography Course

We are delighted to announce the launch of the first Telephoto online photography course – Photography for Beginners.

When Telephoto was first conceived, part of the idea was to create an affordable platform for beginning photographers to learn photography. It had to be affordable because we truly do believe that everyone, if they wish, should be able to learn photography. We also felt that we had to offer every student direct ‘one to one’ support in an online environment. Automated courses are great, but sometimes you just need to ask a human a question!

So this is exactly what we created! And who better than the course tutor, David Taylor, to tell you all about it!

The ‘Photography For Beginners – Online Course’ is delivered online via the Telephoto.com dedicated learning platform. The course structure is based around 10 lessons covering 59 different topics. The lessons are broke down as follows:

  1. Choosing a Camera
  2. Understanding Lenses
  3. Other Equipment
  4. What Are Camera Modes?
  5. File Formats and Picture Parameters
  6. Understanding Exposure
  7. All About Light
  8. Mastering Focus
  9. Composing Your Shots
  10. Enhancing Your Photos

The course topics are delivered as a series of detailed course notes covering everything you need to know to be a proficient photographer including Camera Sensor Size, Lens Focal Lengths, Flash Guns, Metering Modes, File Formats, Histograms, White Balance, AF Modes, Framing and Digital Asset Management (DAM).

There is a short online quiz at the end of every lesson to ensure that you have fully understood the key aspects which have been covered.

Should you have any questions, online support (via a dedicated messaging system) is available for the duration of the course. Online support is provided by award-winning photographer, and Telephoto.com founder, Jason Friend.

And now for the price. As mentioned above, we wanted this course to be as affordable as possible and as such it will normally cost £29.99 to enrol on the Photography for Beginners – Online Photography Course. However, if you sign up before the end of June, you will be able to enrol for only £19.99. That is less than £20 for an online photography course covering 59 topics over 10 lessons, with each lesson have a short quiz to check that you fully understand what was covered… and if there is anything you don’t understand, you can send a private message to an award-wining photographer with over 20 years experience.

Hopefully, you will agree that is indeed value for money!
